The Cancel Sign
Rewiring Your Mind for Positivity

Please take a moment to think about what happens when you see a red cancel sign.
It’s an immediate alert—a warning to stop, go back, or change course. It helps us avoid danger, mistakes, or paths that may not serve us.
Now, imagine if we could apply this same principle to our thoughts and words. What if, every time we caught ourselves thinking something negative, doubting ourselves, or speaking words that didn’t serve us, we could stop in our tracks and choose differently?
Wow, right?
This is exactly what I invite you to do.
Why Canceling Negative Thoughts Matters
Our words and thoughts shape our reality. The way we speak about our lives, our challenges, and ourselves influences how we experience life itself.
If we constantly tell ourselves, “Life is hard,” then that’s what we will experience—struggle, difficulty, and resistance.
But if we shift our language to “Life flows with ease”, we begin to notice opportunities, solutions, and a sense of lightness that wasn’t there before.
Thoughts and words are powerful. They affect our mood, relationships, productivity, health, and energy. That’s why canceling negative and un-useful thoughts immediately is one of the most effective tools I know.
How to Use the Cancel Sign
I invite you to try a simple yet profound exercise:
For one full day, become aware of every time you think or say something that isn’t useful to you.
Each time you catch yourself, imagine drawing a red cancel sign in the air with your finger. As you do, firmly say “Cancel.” This sends a strong message to your brain and body that you are choosing to stop that thought or belief in its tracks.
But here’s the key—don’t just cancel; replace.
Immediately follow up with a useful, empowering statement that supports you.
For example:
❌ “I can’t do this.” → ✋ Cancel. ✅ “I’ve got this!”
❌ “I’m always so unlucky.” → ✋ Cancel. ✅ “Good things come my way.”
❌ “I’m too tired to keep going.” → ✋ Cancel. ✅ “I have the energy I need.”
At first, this practice may feel unfamiliar, but with repetition, it will become second nature. You will begin to automatically shift toward positive, supportive self-talk—and this will change your life in powerful ways.
Give it a go today, and stay tuned for the next part, where we’ll take this practice even deeper.
With love and light,
Judy
