Hope and Harmony

The Cloud Visualisation

A way to achieve calm and balance is to first stop and sit quietly.
Imagine you have floated up and are resting on a fluffy white cloud, on soft pillows, with gentle white sunlight warm on your whole body. You are far above the world, floating freely, and breathing in calm, quiet and peace down to your toes.
Breathe out any human upsets; any fears, worries, guilts and missed expectations, allowing the quiet and calm to seep into your whole body. You are so far above your usual life that it doesn’t reach you, so you can just lie back, rest and enjoy, as your thoughts drift away, possibly out the top of your head.

WHEN YOU FEEL READY AND WHILE RESTING, you may want to quietly ask yourself some useful questions:
What, in my humanness, honestly, have I created in my world?
What is, ’just is’. I own my results without judging. Some will be great, some perhaps not so. Acceptance is key.
Are these the results I want in the future?
Who do I need to be to move forward?
What are three qualities I need to focus on?
Are there any skills I need to upgrade?
What are my highest responsibilities and choices to do from here on?
What would make me happy?
How can I make that happen – Step 1?

The Acceptance Affirmation

People do the best they can
with who they are
and what they know
in every moment
so, judgement is out of the question
…and this includes of myself

– Dr Judy Hinwood

This affirmation acknowledges that in our humanness we could do no more and no better at that time. So indeed, how can any more be expected? The outcome has to be enough.
We are enough. This is self-compassion in action – gentleness, understanding, acceptance of and kindness to ourselves as well. This is the basis of emotional resilience.
I devised this effective affirmation a long time ago when I had to check my responsibility for being very ill. It was so hard for me to accept these words but they have been my key for standing up again after huge mistakes/learnings. This simple , and yes, possibly naive affirmation continues to make my world easier and more beautiful as I give myself and everyone else the space to run our own lives without judgement.

The Blame Game

“An important decision I made was to resist playing The Blame Game. The day I realised that I am in charge of how I will approach problems in my life, that things will turn out better or worse because of me and nobody else, that was the day I knew I would be a happier and healthier person. And that was the day I knew I could truly build a life that matters.” – Steve Goodier

Forgiveness

“Just be yourself, let people see the real, imperfect, flawed, quirky, weird, beautiful and magical person that you are”  – Mandy Hale
